About Us
The Gastroesophageal Cancer Research Program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is made up of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, scientists, and researchers – all dedicated in advancing gastroesophageal cancer research and improving the care of patients.
There are three core objectives of this program:
1. To advance our knowledge of gastroesophageal cancers and improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients through research and innovation
2. To increase awareness and accessibility of educational resources and support services for gastroesophageal cancers patients and caregivers
3. To provide referring oncologists, patients, and collaborators an updated list of research studies and clinical trials opened at the Princess Margaret
EsoRAMP
We treat patients with esophageal disorders such as reflux and difficulty swallowing. We investigate for esophageal cancer by conducting a variety of tests to diagnose and stage the disease. We also work closely with Medical and Radiation Oncologists – both locally at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre as well as with your referring oncologists, to provide timely and personalized treatment.
Esophageal-Gastric Survivorship Program at UHN
We understand that a cancer diagnosis can be intimidating. Appointments with different providers can be demanding, questions about your treatment options may be plentiful, and adjusting to a new normal may feel overwhelming. We want to help with that. We host online meetings with survivors and members of the collaborative care team every 2 months. This provides a safe space to connect with people in various stages of recovery.
